FAQ's
Q: What about my food sensitivities?
A: We are happy to accommodate your food preferences to the best of our abilities. Simply list any allergies/sensitivities on your attendee information form and we will submit this to the staff.
Q: What is included in the cost?
A: Gorgeous accommodations at Casa Azul Profundo II, two delicious and healthy meals everyday prepared by the Chef at the Villa, a wait staff, daily maid service, massage, excursions, fitness and wellness classes, workshop, guided meditation, gift bags, and personal journal.
Q: Should I bring money for tipping?
A: This is strongly suggested as the wait staff works diligently in shopping for preparing and serving food, beverages, etc. The massage staff should be tipped after each massage. This can range from $6-$10 U.S. Tipping the house staff can be done at the end of the trip. Typically is it 3-5% of your Retreat cost. There are 4 staff members and you can tip each the amount that you would like depending on the amount of service they provided.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: There are no refunds so we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. See cancellation policy within this packet for the complete details.
Q: Is transportation from the airport-villa and villa-airport included?
A: We will provide a pick up for you at the airport. After going through customs, walk down the hallway. There is no need to talk to anyone inside the airport if they approach you for a ride. Simply say “No Gracias” if approached. Walk out the doors to the outside. To your right is a little outdoor bar. A driver with a sign with Solful Elevations and possibly your name will be at this bar. Please go up to them and wait for all guests. It is helpful for us to coordinate flights to make taxi to and from the Villa as smooth as possible so PLEASE GIVE US YOUR FLIGHT INFORMATION as soon as you book your flights. Please email: pilatesplus@gmail.com and put FLIGHT INFO in the subject line.
Q: What is not included in the cost?
A: Your round-trip airfare from home, 1 meal, tips for Villa staff and housekeeping (at your discretion) and excursion leaders, insurance (personal, medical, travel, cancellation), any souvenir shopping
Q: What should I bring?
A: An open mind, supportive, positive attitude, workout clothes, bathing suit, biodegradable sunscreen, light sweater or jacket, comfortable shoes…
Q: What do I need to know regarding currency?
A: Although many businesses in Puerto Vallarta will accept US dollars as readily as they accept pesos, the rates are generally poor. And although some places indicate that they take credit cards, often they do not and require payment in pesos. Banks with ATMs and casas de cambio are abundant. You can also exchange currency prior to arrival through your local bank. If leaving from Chicago’s O’Hare airport you may also exchange currency at Terminal 1.
Q: Which airlines have direct flights from Chicago to Puerto Vallarta?
A: Frontier, United, American
Q: What is biodegradable sunscreen and is it required?
A: Biodegradable sunscreen is environmentally friendly sunscreen that lacks harmful chemicals that are destroying the world’s coral reefs. These sunscreens break down naturally in the environment, minimizing damage to the environment.
*One of the most harmful things to the natural underwater environment in Mexico is the sunscreens, oils, and sunblocks worn by tourists. These oils come off and settle on coral reefs and other marine life, suffocating them and damaging delicate ecosystems. Therefore, yes, biodegradable sunscreen is required. Last year, less damaging sunscreen was found at Target*
